Cleaning up some SERIOUS grime

thieves-cleaner-setAlright, so here’s an embarrassing fact about me: I used to HATE cleaning my shower… to the point where I completely ignored it and let the grime build up until theres a very noticeable (and nasty) brown tint to it.  It’s not because I’m a necessarily dirty person, I like to keep a mostly clean home. I just had a really unpleasant way of cleaning the shower before I met my best friend, Thieves Household Cleaner.

This may be TMI, but I used to literally clean the shower while taking a shower, and let me tell you, being naked in a small enclosed space with steam and bleach is NOT fun!

When I couldn’t stand doing that anymore I would try letting bleach and other harsh cleaners soak on the ground and scrubbing furiously on my hands and knees for an hour to try to clean the tub, but it never really felt totally clean and my eyes and lungs would still burn, even if I kept the window open.

After some experimenting with different combos, I finally found a solution! I made a quick paste, scrubbed it onto the floor, let it sit for 20 minutes, scrubbed off for under 8 minutes and BAM, cleanest tub I’ve ever seen!

Here’s how to make the paste:

  • 1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 3/4 cup of Baking Soda
  • 2 drops of Lemon

Mix in a glass bowl and use a sponge to rub onto the grimy surface, scrub off with a sponge and some water!

My shower has never been cleaner and it smells AMAZING and clean! How did I live without this amazing cleaner for so long?

CAUTION: Here’s a before and after picture of the process.. it’s pretty gross, so brace yourself!
